Our work is LGBTQIA+ informed and is built on an intersectional and feminist-based philosophy. We elevate the people who are discriminated against, marginalised, and those who are the most vulnerable. Many of us have been affected by societal messages about how we are supposed to act through covert conditioning. From an early age, children are often told that boys and girls must act in a certain way. These constructs do not allow for the fact that many children feel exhausted by these expectations before they even start to begin their lives.
Children who are vulnerable, children who have additional needs, children who have been exposed to family and domestic violence, for example, may have a greater risk of being exploited, more likely to have toxic friendships and relationships and have maladaptive attachment styles. Our discussions intend on challenging these assumptions and equip children and young people with their own bodily autonomy and provide an awareness about their intrinsic human right to exist just as they are.
Children who are assigned female at birth (AFAB) and children who are transgender are significantly more susceptible to abuse and hearing messages that they are somehow less than. These children are also more likely to be homeless, develop substance use issues, and have issues relating to their mental health. As a parent to three young children, and as a person who experienced significant developmental trauma, our founder will provide you with insight and work alongside you to support these particularly vulnerable and unique humans.
